Have you felt overwhelmed, rushed, or frantic lately? With holiday preparations, the solstice and eclipse energies, and worries like natural disasters and political issues, the majority of us are feeling at least some stress.
Crystals can help you let go of the anxiety and cultivate inner peace. Note that you may want to combine whichever crystal you use with a grounding stone – some of the inner-peace crystals are incredibly high-vibe and intense! A grounding stone will help to balance the energy and will keep you attached to Earth instead of floating around the ether. If you need a list of grounding stones, go HERE to read my article on Grounding Essentials.
Here’s a non-exclusive list of crystals for inner peace. If you’re drawn to working with another crystal for this purpose, trust your intuition!

Wow, what a weekend! Thanksgiving is a beautiful holiday, but it’s also exhausting in many ways. Many traveled, spent time with family and friends, and spent their weekends chasing Black Friday deals. The activity is enough to overwhelm even the most extroverted among us, and it’s not uncommon to crash somewhat the following week.
How to deal? With crystals, of course! Work with any of the following crystals to escape the madness, release the overwhelm, and recover mentally from the holiday.
Blue Lace Agate
Looking for another way to recover? Check out my Cyber Monday specials! The specials will be going all week on KatMichaels.net. The moon is waning right now, and generally speaking, the waning moon is always a spectacular time for release. To amplify the energy, we’re currently in the last complete moon cycle of the year, as the moon cycle beginning on December 6, 2018, won’t end until January 4, 2019. This gives us an amazing opportunity to release whatever isn’t serving us so that we begin 2019 with fresh energy, ideas, and attitudes.
If you aren’t sure what you want to release, make a list or talk it out. What consistent patterns have affected your friendships or romantic relationships in negative ways? Is there an emotional state that you’re prone to that causes miscommunication more often than not? Do you tend to be stubborn, jealous, angry, apathetic, timid, anxious, or sad? What can you shift in your life to minimize toxic feelings and create more happiness, love, joy, and abundance? Do you usually keep your thoughts positive, or do you frequently think thoughts that are catty, self-deprecating, or judgmental?
You may want to focus on shedding those physical possessions that aren’t in your best interest to hang onto, also. Clearing clutter from our homes is an amazing way to revamp the energy and allow the space for new developments to take place. Hanging onto clothes that you haven’t worn in 2 years? Donate them to a charity that helps the needy (but do your homework first – some charities like Dress for Success, the Vietnam Veteran’s Association, and the Salvation Army are rated highly, but others are not) or even sell them if you prefer. But get them out of your space. And while you’re at it, go through the rest of your things as well.
Work with any of the following crystals to help you release all that doesn’t serve you.
Gold Sheen, Silver Sheen, and Rainbow Sheen Obsidian
It’s been a powerful year – release and regeneration have been the themes of 2018. In the process, many relationships, ways of being, communication styles, and other ingrained situations and habits have been considered, upended, and ultimately reformed or released entirely.
One consistency in all of this is that those things that have buried deep in our psyches have continued to come up in our lives – the stories, traumas, conditioning, worries, doubts, and secrets that we have tried so hard to push down keep rising for our examination. For those souls who haven’t been working continually to resolve lingering wounds, these issues are likely to have risen in an even more dramatic way, forcing heavy review. And as we prepare to head into Scorpio at the end of October, which rules the house of death and rebirth, those things that haven’t yet been addressed are likely to rise again for clearing.
How to deal? First, it’s remarkably important to address things head-on instead of pushing them down. Those facets of our being that we don’t like to acknowledge or express are collectively known as our “shadow,” and it’s essential with any self-love or spiritual practice to love all of ourselves, even the parts that we don’t normally rave about. The ultimate goal of “shadow work” is to bring those hidden pieces of ourselves into the light so that we can heal them and integrate them fully without shame.
But what if the memories, analysis, and healing get to be too much? Are there ways to alleviate some of the pressure or to cope? Absolutely. First, grounding is essential. If you don’t know much about grounding, here’s a link to a recent article that I wrote. Additionally, make sure that you’re getting adequate rest, drinking plenty of water, and eating nutritious foods so that you have the physical support to move past tough emotions and properly detoxify your body of the associated energy.
Next, pull out your crystals! As your shadow rises and forces your attention, work with the following crystals to uncover, illuminate, address, and shift the patterns and other issues that you need to heal. I also recommend carrying a grounding stone like black tourmaline or smoky quartz throughout this healing process.
Tomorrow is the full blood moon in Aquarius, and it’s the longest lunar eclipse this century. With the moon opposite the Leo sun, the primary focuses this eclipse are self-mastery, self-discovery, and relationships with others. Now’s the chance to rise above everything that you used to be and be everything that you’re meant to be.
There’s a final opportunity today and tomorrow to let things go before the new paradigm begins – DO IT. Dig in, pull the weeds, examine them if you have to. Work through the things that have been bothering you the past few days, months, years. Find those things that you’ve shoved down – that you haven’t wanted to process – and release them. If you do the heavy lifting now, you won’t have to carry any extra baggage into the new post-eclipse paradigm that’s beginning.
How to release? Love yourself first. Those things that you hated – they taught you some of your most valuable lessons. Unearth the shadow part of yourself, but give it just as much love and care as the shiny part of yourself. Accept those things that you regret and those things that you can’t change now. Know that you learned your lesson, and make a point to apply it going forward. Leave the rest behind.
The relationships that dissatisfied you – the times that you were hurt – the friendships that ended poorly – those were all catalysts to you being you. What did you learn? Take each thing that plagues you, that weighs on you, and assess it. What emotions are still attached to that event/person/situation? Have you truly moved on? Are you still carrying some of that hardness in your heart today? Find the lesson, forgive the person or situation, and let the rest go. Every single time.
It’ll seem impossible with some issues – some things are nearly unbearable, and it’s easy to think that no lesson came of a cruel or calculating situation. For those experiences, think of your strength – you made it through, and you’re here today. You’re not only here, but you’re reading, learning, and growing. You made it. You can be more and do more because of your experience, your perspective, and your story. Take the good of it – leave the rest behind. Every single time.
Emotions will come up, and they won’t always be pretty. Feel everything. Interact with it all. Try to resolve the pain by working through it rather than numbing it. Numbing it will only push it back down. . . . Find your way to process it all.
Do you journal? Great. Safely burn the pages when you’re done. Not a writer? Speak it. Talk to your best friend, your therapist or coach, your mirror, even your dog. It doesn’t matter whom. Get it out. Do you exercise? Go for a jog, hit the gym, or take a walk. Let the energy move through you as you feel it, and let yourself process e.v.e.r.y.t.h.i.n.g. Any of these suggestions may feel like hard work. But they’re each worth it.
While you process things, stay grounded. Emotions are a lot harder to deal with when you’re not firmly planted on this Earth. If you need grounding tips, check out my recent article: https://bit.ly/2mLuMi6. Popular and easy-to-find grounding stones include black tourmaline, agate, jasper, smoky quartz, jet, onyx, petrified wood, and pyrite.
For help processing the emotions that arise, work with any of the following crystals and stones.
Desert rose selenite
